Prof. dr. Adang Bachtiar, MPH, DSc
Dr. Adang Bachtiar, MPH, DSc obtained his medical degree from the University of Indonesia in 1980, Master of Public Health from Harvard University in 1987, and Doctor of Science from John Hopkins University in 1992. Currently, he serves as the Chairman of the Public Health Expert Council, Indonesian Public Health Association, and as one of the Expert Panels for the Quality Control-Cost Control-JKN Team. He is also actively involved in teaching master's and doctoral students in faculties of medicine, dentistry, nursing, and public health at several universities including the University of Indonesia (UI), University of North Sumatra (USU), Andalas University, among others. He previously served as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Public Health, University of Indonesia from 1994 to 1997, as Head of the Department of Health Administration and Policy (AKK) FKM UI, and as Chair of the Health Service Quality Study Group (Pokdi) FKM UI. In addition to being part of the expert team in designing the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for Health, he is actively involved in producing several publications including: Quality Assessment of Tugu Ibu Hospital with The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award in 2005, Health and Quality of Work Life on Nurse Performance at Tangerang General Hospital in 2011, Standardizing Public Health Profession in Indonesia and Beyond, 2013, Measuring the Level of Community Empowerment in the Health Sector in 2014.
